Remember...

Do not forget the hurting
Their tear stained hands and eyes
The shaking of their fingers
As they look to the sky.
Do not forget the mourning
Who live in darkest night
Whose blood stains red the carpet
When they're too weak to fight.
Don't disregard the broken
Who spend whole nights in pain
Wishing Death would enter
And wash the hurt away.
Do not cast off the lonely
Whose hearts ache with these tempests
Whose bodies fall in terror
Whose agony is relentless.
Do not forget the children,
The brothers, the sisters, the friends,
The parents, the teachers, the lost ones
Who think this is the end.
Remember now the fallen.
Remember now the slain.
Grieve for those who were taken,
The ones who've gone away.
Pray for peace within the war
For those who fail to win
The bruised, the lost, the broken
And above all else:
*Remember them.*

In loving memory of the wounded and the victims of the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14, 2012. May the 20 young children and the 6 adults who were murdered rest in Gods care. Also to those and the families of those who have contemplated, attempted, or committed suicide. May you find peace and comfort in Christ.
