Light

Surrounded by darkness
Enveloped by fear
Consumed by anxiety
Frozen by the past
Life doesn't always work out
The way that you think it will
It makes you alone and afraid
It can take away your freedom
And keep you captive to pain
Friends will let you down
Family will leave
But through it all,
Light endures.

I just thought of this, but at the time I wrote this I would have been twelve. It doesn't quite seem like that... at least to me. I don't know. Just a random thought. Sometimes even kids have something special in them.
